The Next Thing…

   ...the conversation continues.

What is "The Next Thing?"

A ten week coaching collective,
led by Martha Beck Master Coach, Jennifer Voss
with Martha Beck Certified Coach, Christa Gallopoulos

Beginning on January 10th, 2012,
we will meet for ten weeks
from 2 - 3:30 pm EST

With a dozen coaches
who are ready to launch
their Next Thing,
with the guidance and support of
a stellar group of fellow travelers.

Why "The Next Thing?"

Here are the questions I (Jennifer) remember asking as my life coach training ended in January of 2009:

"I've spent the past eight months deep-dive healing with these people.

They are my tribe.  My family.  My support.  Life will start pulling at each of us and we'll unravel at the seams if there isn't some sort of structure to keep us together."

     (Limiting belief, anyone?)

"How do I stay connected?"

"How can I continue to practice coaching as I move from this j.o.b. into my new way of being, working, playing?"

"What's the next thing?"

What I really wanted was someone(s) to help me with the metamorphosis of "becoming a coach" to "being a coach."

Come to find out, there is a big mental shift between the "becoming" and the "being" and most of the time, those beliefs that inhibit that shift plant themselves firmly in a blind spot.

Let's call my shift-stopper beliefs "Bob."

Without the connection with our tribe, it might have been a long and arduous road trying to work around Bob, especially given that I didn't really know who or what he was.  I briefly even found myself taking classes and enrolling in certification programs NOT for the fun of it (gasp!), but to feed Bob's desire to keep me in on the "becoming" side of the equation.

In short, I was looking for the right next thing in all the wrong places.

Lucky for me, I stayed connected with our tribe.  Along the way, I found several mentors (still have them, in fact).  One day, after rambling one too many times about my state of stuck, my beloved mentor spotted and introduced me to Bob.  Eureka.  This phase of career transition is very obvious unless it's hiding in your blind spot.

Being stuck in the middle of “becoming” something new and “being” that new thing is like having one foot in a canoe and another in a kayak and wondering why it’s tough to stay steady.  You do your thing and look calm on the outside, but your core being is continuously working to not get wet.

Funny thing is, when we stay together, help each other bust our blind spot dwellers, we can choose the kayak or  the canoe, leave Bob behind, and embark on riding this wave of being full throttle.  And we know that the team is all around us, in their own paddling device of choice, ready to help us back up if we tip over.  We're all out there together, a magnificent flotilla.

That is what "The Next Thing" is all about.

  • Picking out your boat.
  • Gathering your gear.
  • Practicing your techniques.
  • Choosing to riding the wave rather than staying on shore.  (And here's the important part...)
  • Being with a dedicated group of travelers, helping you to see around your blind spots, keeping you afloat when it's hard to do it on your own.

Come with us!  We've got the approved number of flotation devices already loaded aboard.  : )

Come with who?

In case we haven't had the pleasure of meeting, I'm Jennifer Voss.  I'm a Martha Beck Master Coach and Life Coach Training instructor.  The time spent with you on our Coach the Coach and other calls ranked right up there among my favorite moments of the year.  I also believe that deep practicing the coaching tools is the quickest way to being an intuitive, confident coach.  I was standing in the same proverbial shoes as you are three years ago and know how valuable practice and connection were to me.  You can read more about me and the Truth Experience here.

This is Christa Gallopoulos to the right.  As most of you know, she is an intuitive "master of woo" and mixes her Martha Beck training with her own blend of magic. I love working with coaches who bring strengths to the table that I am still cultivating.  The art of energy management, being an empath, is something that I have found to be critical to maintaining my sanity and health in this new world.  I'm still working on it and am thrilled that Christa brings these skills, along with the fresh perspective of the coach training experience, to the table.  You can read more about her here.

Our goal is to create a safe, familiar container to seamlessly transition out of coach training and into being a coach, in whatever form that might take for you.

"The Next Thing" is for:

Coaches who have completed Martha Beck's Life Coach Training and want...

  • to stay connected with a close-knit group of a dozen coaches who are all in the deep practice phase of their journey.
  • to continue the meaty conversations and connections only within this tribe.
  • a place to practice their coaching tools and receive on-the-spot feedback and support.
  • support in drawing a business map for 2012.
  • support in getting something launched.  This can be anything: your practice, a website, a product, an idea.  This can even be just getting up the nerve to come out of the closet as a Life Coach.
  • a mentor who has been there, done that, and befriended Bob along the way.
  • a master guide to the world of working with your own energy.

What does "The Next Thing" include?

  • Ten weekly 90-minute calls, each with 30-minutes of teaching or group exercises, followed by a 60-minute deep practice coaching practicum.  (Kind of like a deep tissue massage for your soul!)
  • A self-study business mapping process to complete during the ten weeks for review and feedback by the group.  (Watch the heart and soul of your business come to life!)
  • Administration and one-on-one review of your Myers-Briggs type with Jennifer.  (Coupled with your Kolbe type, you will be set to play to your strengths!)
  • a 60 minute one on one energy management session with Christa (good for you, good for your clients!)
  • E-mail support and continued conversation between calls
And for those of you attending the Summit in March, we'll all gather for a group meal and conversation!

When does "The Next Thing" begin?

January 10th, 2012.
We'll meet on Tuesdays from 2:30 - 4:00 pm, EST for ten weeks, finishing up this session just before the Summit.

What does it cost?

$325 for
  • all ten weeks of the calls,
  • recordings,
  • business mapping and other support materials,
  • group e-mail support between calls,
  • individual sessions with Jennifer and Christa, and
  • the support of your fellow travelers.
